Who is JINMO?
JINMO is an artist who works across a wide range of mediums creating both Sonic and Optic Art. His Optic Art is categorised as ‘nanoZen', ‘dataPainting' and 'Japanese Calligraphy’. He started calligraphy in early childhood - his mother is also calligrapher. In the late 1980s, he started to harness the power of computers for visual expression. His enormous and complex computer graphics series ‘Drawing’, went live online in 2003. JINMO has exhibited his art in the US and his audio books, 'Ascension Spectacle' and 'Mensa Nuklea’ were published in 2008 and 2019 respectively. He has also been creating music and exhibiting art in Japan. JINMO, has released 236 solo albums and 'Ascension Spectacle’ was selected for inclusion in the 2009 Japan Media Arts Festival. Another album, 'Live At The Knitting Factory’ was released by 17 labels around the world. He has performed in Japan, the US, the UK, Russia, Germany, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark and Belarus.
